Trunk or Treat- Wonder Woman

Tonight we completed our third Trunk or Treat.
I first asked Connor if he would be interested in doing a theme but he wasn't into it (sigh tween).
We did get to do two together-  Carolina PanthersDude Perfect (the best one ever).

I thought this would be a good year for Carlee and me to do one together.
At first, we thought maybe a princess or Elsa/ Frozen theme but during "trunk" planning we were also watching:

I suggested that we might do Wonder Woman.  Carlee first had to approve the costume before that idea passed but once she saw how cool it was, she gave the green light.

I will admit that I was a bit strapped for time this weekend.  There hasn't been time to breathe in about a month but I was able to pull a few pieces together to make a trunk that even the real Wonder Woman would approve.

Wonder Woman Trunk- - -

As we know Wonder Woman is All-American,
so I pulled as much red, white, and blue fabric that I could find in my classroom closet.
In 15 years of teaching, one can collect a lot of fabric because it is a very simple way to tie in a theme or decor.

The red, white, and blue banner was way too heavy to hang, so I draped it across the seats and we set up the windshield sun shade to give a little more shimmer.

In the center of the banner, I ripped up the small shirt for the WW symbol.  (side note-)   I mistakingly bought a shirt/cape set on Amazon that ended up being a junior's size (and way too small), but I salvaged the cape and the front for more decor.

I nearly forgot the pumpkin.
I wanted to paint it but due to a lack of time, I just wrapped it up in some fabric.
It still looked pretty.

I downloaded this iTunes song and played it in the back of the van.
It put me in a very crime fighting frame of mind.

I left Darren to buy the candy.
Connor felt this was a mistake.
#cheapcandy
Don't worry, we lassoed him and he redeemed by going back out and supplying some good chocolate for this stash.

Another Amazon FAIL.
I ordered rings for a homemade ring toss (Wonder Woman- Lasso).
The rings intended up being bracelet size!?!
I had to order a different ring toss game from Walmart and it came in just yesterday (shew).

Game #2:  We did use the small rings for water bottles and food coloring (pee gold colored) for the small bracelets.

My coworker let me borrow this awesome Wonder Woman shield.

The only thing I forgot to add were these little bookmarks to pass out.
(I'm telling you, this is not like me but I was working very last minute and my exhaustion scale from a 1-10, is an 11).

We dressed up as fancy as two Wonder Women could dress up.

We both wore bows, boots, lipstick, and earrings.  It was a lot of fun.
I pinned the other cape onto the back of a more properly sized Wonder Woman shirt.

Otherwise, we were totally prepared for Trunk or Treat.

Most of all, we know it is through Christ that He makes us Wonder Woman READY in this crazed world.
Dear Lord, put your hand of protection on our little superhero and heroines.

There were a lot of great Trunks and even though the forecast called for rain, we had perfect weather.
The second I moved the last remaining "trunk" pieces into the house, the bottom fell out of the sky.
Thank you, Lord for holding it off.

I love this game that included Orbeez.

My personal favorite:
The Office
I loved it.  Jim and Pam FOR-EVA

Cute 'Nerds'

Church Gals

This was my favorite 'trunk' of the evening
... the hot dog stand!

Best Treat Ever  (finger lights)

I have to admit having Trunk or Treat with a little girl was a little more quiet than normal.

I can't believe I'm writing this but when the boys arrived,
things became a lot more lively (and funny).

The Lasso of Truth (aka. jump rope):
Do you boys always listen to your mama?

A few of my costume favs.

The Tooth Fairy

The Doughnut

A Jelly Fish

Two Redskins Fans seen together.  ha. ha.

Wonder Woman Meets Thor
(is this picture hilarious just to me?)

I am tired, I have a cold, my knee is still swollen....
but my tiny Wonder Woman made this a wonderful evening.

I love you, Little Wonder!
