Mommies and Dundies Take II

Hello Friends!
It's been a month since I've checked in, and although I've had a lot of stories and experiences to share, life has been too busy.
Maybe I can catch up soon but in the meantime keep me in your prayers because no matter how hard I try, I end up being depleted physically and emotionally by the end of year.

For now, life with these two just keeps moving.
Can you see this one trying to grow up on me?

This one too....
This was his first year in track.  He definitely persevered and learned a lot.
I am a proud mama.

It is that time again.
a family graduation...
Dundie Time

Congratulations J.!
You are such a funny, smart, and caring person. You remind me of your mom.
I know you will make the world a better place and we are really proud of you.

You may remember his brother graduated last year- here.

We went out to another great restaurant.
This one served the BEST French Onion Soup ever.
We had so much fun celebrating.
I need another bowl of this please.

I do wish the restaurant had made a bigger deal about the presentation ....
I mean this is The Dundies People!?!

....but at least the cake had proper spelling.  :)
It was so good too!

Way to go fellows!

can you tell we have forced this brother photo!?!

God is good to let me know this family.

******************************
Once home, I began to work on my Children's Church lessons.
It was a good morning.
The mothers were all presented with Chick-fil-A gift cards (whoop whoop) and we named our new youth leader:

I felt God pull our team to give this young man an opportunity. Please pray for him on this journey.  He is a special fellow and our kids love him.

In children's church, I spoke about different mothers in the bible and placed scriptures on the board as inspiration for the craft.
I had the children decorate their own tea mugs for their mothers with a bit of raspberry tea for the inside.

These were a few of my favorites.  #hilarious

LOL
Connor made this one for his Darren's mom- MeMe.

Any mother who raised a boy who could pull out a Lemony Snicket quote like this deserves Mother of the Year (even if it isn't relevant).     :)

Carlee made this for me:  My mom is funny and a teacher.  I love her.
(awwwwwwww)

I was expecting Mother's Day to be a bust.
You may recall this day doesn't go well for me- here.
I felt this the second we went Go-Kart racing.
It's always a fun experience for me to get in and out of a Go- Kart (sarcasm) but the kids love it!

Later, I was pleasantly surprised this year!
Darren really thought out a nice gift.
check out the all glitter card

Carlee picked this out for me, Darren didn't think I would like it but I think she did a great job (and I actually bought a new larger bag and need a few miniatures ones to go in it).
#glittergirl

Although I wasn't expecting a Fitbit, I'm excited.   It's a really neat gift idea and knowing how much my heart rate spikes is good knowledge alone.  :)

It was a great weekend.

Happy Mother's Day Friends!
We mamas keep the world turning.

58-63: Mommies and Dundies

This was certainly a busy week for being a mommy:

blog 58:

By Tuesday this was my classroom.  Full Moon?  Warm Weather?  Tiredness?
Something was in the air and I worked 'for the money'.  I was pulling and checking and marking and directing.  It was a wild one.

blog 59:

Connor went on his first really fun field trip to the ball park.
He was thrilled.  We bought a new hat.  He wrangled some money from his dad for gift shopping.
Everything was set.
Sadly, he did not have much fun.  I'm not sure what happened but I think it involved the words: crowded arena,  separated from adults and friends, laid his drink down, got yelled at..... That is the most I could put together.
Either way, I told him to chalk one up to learning and we would definitely hit a ball game this summer.  #goals

Carlee has started to be a big help with homework.

blog 60:

I made soccer snacks.
I brought soccer snacks on the wrong day.
I tried.

blog 61:

By Friday I was ready to cry.
Then our speech pathologist came in with the most beautiful flowers for me.
"Strong. Loving. Amazing."
Then I had to hold the happy tears in ....
what an awesome surprise.

By evening, I had a fun trip planned.
I went with Mrs. E. to celebrate a special Mommy time:
the graduation of her youngest oldest son.

We got a late start but once we settled for dinner it was all laughs and fun.
I tried Sushi for the first time!

(I give it a thumb up!)

Then, I had a delicious meal of Shrimp and Grits.
I know what you are thinking??
Who was the real graduate here?

Don't worry, I wasn't the only one who celebrated.
I had a special gift planned for my pal.
A real Dundie Award just for S.!!!

This hostess was the best!
Sorrentos

All fans of The Office will understand just how special this award is to a new graduate.

Well deserved S.
I've known you since high school and you have turned into a charming, funny, personable, smart, and innovative guy!

We ended the night with a favorite:  MST3000

We enjoyed Mrs. E's Mother's Day gift-
Chill Glasses

blog 62:
We had a great laugh at the cake written for our newly minted graduate:

Congratulations Sam
Would this cake be as good if the writing had been perfect (and spelled correctly)???
Me thinks Not
(and it was soooooo good)
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

When I returned home, I had many goodies waiting for me for Mother's Day.
This year Darren put in a real effort with the kids.  It was so sweet.

growing fast
I didn't have time for presents because we hit the road for a birthday party!
I promised this girl we would go.
It was big fun and we had a lot to celebrate.

blog 63:

I'm one Blessed Mommy.
Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day Recap

Mother's Day started with breakfast in bed by my two children.
Vanilla Wafers + Soggy Cereal +Chocolate Syrup= Very Touching.

Yummy

It included a card:
Roses are Red, Violets are Blue
this breakfast is 'sweat' and so are YOU.

This card was even better:
Mom you are my favorite (of course)
you have did so much for me, I hope you have a Happy Mother's Day and everything goes good on that day.
Love, Connor

Totally Awesome

Everything did go good, except for when we went to eat at a local restaurant- they were out of chicken and dumplings, baked chicken, corn, and ketchup.
(yes, seriously, I had hamburger steak with no ketchup)
Ha. Ha.  Family Luck

They dressed up.  :)

I was given the most precious coaster!
No one could ever set a drink on that coaster.
#cutiepie

With these homemade notes:

If my mom had time, she would 'play'.
(I wish I had more time to play :(.)

Speciality Plate made at Church
Carlee was so very excited to give me this special surprise.

The most precious thing was when Connor found something for his MeMe.
He was originally upset because he didn't have enough money to buy something for himself but as we were checking out he decided to get her this little dog.
He redeemed himself because prior he was in trouble for breaking our patio chair and dad's hammer.  I have no idea if the two are connected.

Our evening ended with pie.
Any evening with pie is always a good day in my book.

Happy Mother's Day to All
