VBS Everest 2015

Welcome to Everest!

This year we were thrilled to be a part of VBS (and we got to bring our cousins).

This week was filled with God Sightings.

VBS is not just for kids.
God's word is consistent and true.  If you are battling with something in your life, be reassured by God's promises below:

We had lots of kids this year!

I was blessed to get to participate in Bible Expeditions....

with my neighbor and Partner S.!

If you want a smart worker, you need this gal on your side!!

Did you know God has the power to provide?

"And God will generously provide all you need."  -2 Corinthians 9:8

God provided for Elijah by the brook.

Someone at our church provided us a note of encouragement on the board!
Whoever you are... THANK YOU.
Isn't God amazing to provide words of encouragement at the right time?

God has the power to comfort.
"He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others."
-2 Corinthians 1:4

God spoke to Elijah by the mountain in a soft whisper.

God has the power to heal!!
"He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds."  -Psalm 147:3

God heals Namaan from his leprosy!

God has the power to forgive.

"You are a God of forgiveness."  -Nehemiah 9:17

Jesus died on the cross to take away our sins.

Football and Tiaras

This week has been quite busy.
We had Vacation Bible School (pictures soon), Football Camp, and Princess Camp.
We had a lot of fun packed into one tiring week!

Football Camp:
Carlee was sad she couldn't go, but she sent big bro off in her cheerleading uniform.
For some reason I just couldn't crop out the monster size match box car pile in my living room.

This year Connor decided to play football.
I was so nervous about football camp.
I've watched too much reality TV.  I envisioned my son doing push ups and running laps all day while a drill sergeant screams in his face.

Sometimes I still have this image in my head:
little Connor

When we went to pick up big bro (after a costume change, after all life is a costume change), he was all smiles and had the best day.  He couldn't quit talking about how much fun it was for him.

(sigh) I was very proud but letting go is hard to do!

One thing is for sure I have to accept the time has come to hand down my crown,

me and my crown-  12 years ago today
because we NOW have a true princess in our presence.

What can I tell you about Princess Camp?
You know how they say there is no crying in baseball (or football)??
Those rules don't apply in Princess Camp.
There is lots of crying in Princess Camp.
There is crying over sashes, ribbons, lost shoes, places in line, messed up crafts, unbraided hair, the wrong music... yes there is crying in Princess Camp.

There is also lots of beauty, wonder, imagination, and sweetness:

There are crafts.

There is ribbon twirling.

But listen up people,
you have not lived until you have DRESSED like a princess:

My princess loved to dress up, but she did not like performance.  During showtime, my shy princess was not about going out on stage.
She preferred to watch off stage (even after I tried to bribe her with new shoes).

Luckily, Cousin A. came to give her some courage.  We all need a cousin who will help us slay our dragons.

We decided next year Cousin A. was going to join us, so it could be a real party!

I'm outright here for you!   -Anna, Frozen

I encourage everyone to let go and let their inner most beautiful princess shine through!
