bringing the BLING to Grade 1 |
It's Back to School Time,
and I think it's going to be almost painful for us to get back into a routine again.
(We have just relaxed too much this summer.)
I have been working hard this weekend- cleaning, meal planning, laundry, packing school supplies, filling out papers, and I finally think we are set.
We even made time for- Back to School nails!

Y'all are going to have to pray for Carlee, she is very apprehensive about her new transition into the next grade (even though we have a great teacher).
Even new nails only temporarily eased the worry. 💅😔
I have many, many, many worries for the school year too but this morning got my week started off right with a great service and an encouraging congregation.
Under the idea of our youth leader, Connor really wanted to teach the young children, as well as give the children's message this morning. Studies actually show that if we want our young people to stay in church, we need to provide meaningful lessons and leadership roles for them- here. I was really surprised and proud of his initiative. You can see Connor's Object Lesson below. This was his original idea and was implemented from his heart:
Since accepting Jesus into his heart Connor has shown true passion for talking about the word of God. I pray he doesn't experience spiritual warfare in the form of- 7th grade (eeekkkk). Prayers.
At the end of service, the church prayed over Darren (and myself) as he was ordained as a new deacon. Mema would be so proud. Please pray over this new servant role for our family. Are you feeling a theme here? #prayers
I guess it's finally time to say- Arrivederci to Summer (sniff. sniff). We love(d) you so...
