It ended today with a parent meeting and Connor trying to finish part one of a three part project after school. I wrote it right- a project. after school. Friday. Today. We are on a timeline people and we have to do things when we can get them done.
All I can tell you is to pray for our family. My kids are fighting to do their best in school, Darren is working hard and taking care of his mama, and I'm dying under a mountain of paperwork.
Connor was so cooperative about working on his stuff after a long week of studying and working, I promised him a trip to GameStop and SweetFrog.
We finally left the building quarter till 5pm. We were first held up by roadwork (an additional 10 minutes). Once we made it out of the roadwork, we noticed a mile up the road ALL of the traffic lights were out. The Fire Department was manning the very busy intersection. As we slowly inched out way to GameStop/ SweetFrog (20 minutes) we thought it odd the lights were out in the stores.
No power- closed.
No power at Walmart. closed.
No power at Chick Fil a. closed.
No power at Big Lots. closed.
No power at Hibbett Sports. closed.
And NO way was I going back down to the McDonalds.
Sechrist Luck. We still don't know what was going on.
On our way home, there was a wreck near the railroad track and we had to take a detour home that took us FOREVER.
At that point, we were just ready to get home. The kids did not even complain.
We are currently having a very disappointing sandwich tonight but at least one third of our project board is done!
It is REALLY hard to make a minimum 5 minute Biotechnology movie on a Friday night with a teenager but we went for it- 100% Michael Scott Mode! Here are our takes and edits. (Connor did remove the Johnny Cash song I added, Delia, over the Influenza clip. I didn't realize the lyrics were about murdering his wife. 🤣 oops. Don't worry y'all we found some Dixie Chicks!)
Bloopers
Final Movie
Tommorrow is the weekend and we are ready for some FOOTBALL (and naps)!!!
