58-63: Mommies and Dundies

This was certainly a busy week for being a mommy:

blog 58:

By Tuesday this was my classroom.  Full Moon?  Warm Weather?  Tiredness?
Something was in the air and I worked 'for the money'.  I was pulling and checking and marking and directing.  It was a wild one.

blog 59:

Connor went on his first really fun field trip to the ball park.
He was thrilled.  We bought a new hat.  He wrangled some money from his dad for gift shopping.
Everything was set.
Sadly, he did not have much fun.  I'm not sure what happened but I think it involved the words: crowded arena,  separated from adults and friends, laid his drink down, got yelled at..... That is the most I could put together.
Either way, I told him to chalk one up to learning and we would definitely hit a ball game this summer.  #goals

Carlee has started to be a big help with homework.

blog 60:

I made soccer snacks.
I brought soccer snacks on the wrong day.
I tried.

blog 61:

By Friday I was ready to cry.
Then our speech pathologist came in with the most beautiful flowers for me.
"Strong. Loving. Amazing."
Then I had to hold the happy tears in ....
what an awesome surprise.

By evening, I had a fun trip planned.
I went with Mrs. E. to celebrate a special Mommy time:
the graduation of her youngest oldest son.

We got a late start but once we settled for dinner it was all laughs and fun.
I tried Sushi for the first time!

(I give it a thumb up!)

Then, I had a delicious meal of Shrimp and Grits.
I know what you are thinking??
Who was the real graduate here?

Don't worry, I wasn't the only one who celebrated.
I had a special gift planned for my pal.
A real Dundie Award just for S.!!!

This hostess was the best!
Sorrentos

All fans of The Office will understand just how special this award is to a new graduate.

Well deserved S.
I've known you since high school and you have turned into a charming, funny, personable, smart, and innovative guy!

We ended the night with a favorite:  MST3000

We enjoyed Mrs. E's Mother's Day gift-
Chill Glasses

blog 62:
We had a great laugh at the cake written for our newly minted graduate:

Congratulations Sam
Would this cake be as good if the writing had been perfect (and spelled correctly)???
Me thinks Not
(and it was soooooo good)
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

When I returned home, I had many goodies waiting for me for Mother's Day.
This year Darren put in a real effort with the kids.  It was so sweet.

growing fast
I didn't have time for presents because we hit the road for a birthday party!
I promised this girl we would go.
It was big fun and we had a lot to celebrate.

I'm one Blessed Mommy.
Happy Mother's Day

57- Monday Letters

Today was a pretty good day. I made it to the gym for a workout and did well filling up on fruits/vegetables... until dinner time.  I forgot to lay out meat and just decided to swing by the store for some hot dogs.  I grilled them on the George Foreman and they were delicious.

I found this note in my box from my friend C. today.  She never fails to make me laugh and I am going to be so sad when she retires.

Darren took Connor to practice and Carlee and I reviewed a few letters.  Girl LOVES Letterland but we still have a lot of work to do.

She also filled out a few G. Ma cards for Mother's Day.  We are so ahead of the game (for once).

Tonight I read to her (for the first time) Where the Wild Things Are and she felt the story was 'good but sad'.  I thought this was funny because I always thought this story has a sad feeling too.

Maybe we are both just Wild Things.

Now to wait for Connor to study MORE EOG terms (sigh) bring on summer Vay Cay!

56- Sunday Snoozeday

This year is really taking it out of me.
I thought after Spring break I would be a little more refreshed, but I think it made me want to rest more.

It was a beautiful day.  Of course, after church I spent much of it indoors but I went out for a few minutes.

Most of the day, the children were doing other things ie. grandma, friend's house, etc.
I spent the day lounging.  According to Women's Day-  RED is in this Spring.  I'm ahead of the game according to my pedi (courtesy of Mrs. D.).

I did take a few minutes to meal prep.  It's going to be hard but I can't waste all of that precious time working out if I'm not going to fuel myself properly.

I just hope everyone around me survives.

I added two new songs to my playlist today:

I love these two artists!

I hope everyone has a happy week!

55- Saturday Chores

Last week I purchased these sliders to help with my foot discomfort in Zumba.
This morning I tried them out in class and....
1.  My feet still hurt.
2.  I may have slipped and slid a bit too much.
I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy better dance shoes.  $$$

Oh my goodness, these two wild ones are growing up way too fast.
SaturdayHomeWrestleMania

On the hunt for end of year gifts for teachers and friends.
I'm adding a bit of summer into these little flower pots as I go along this week.
They are going to be really cute.  I'm thinking of adding a flower face of my kids to the flower pots too (not that any teacher wants a reminder of my kids... but it would add to theme).
Ps.  Dollar Tree offers a lot of cool goodies.

Soccer season continues around a VERY rainy Spring.  I'm glad Connor is enjoying this new sport but being a soccer mom/dad is hard work around an already busy schedule.

My grocery shopping buggy looked much healthier this morning (I write as I sip orange Fanta over a piece of chocolate.)

skort
We ended the evening with a Girls Only shopping and pizza trip.  We scored some NON booty shorts on clearance.    Our pizza trip was a big disappointment (bad customer service) but we overall had a nice evening.

51-54 Four Day Work Week

51- Tuesday

This month I was recognized for Teacher Leadership with Red Velvet Fudge.
It didn't last too long at my house.
The meaning behind it was as sweet as the fudge!

52  Wednesday

Connor's pictures are so good.
He is such a good boy and growing like a weed.
He has a lot going on and he is handling it like a pro.

This one captures the 'pre teen' face a little more accurately.

53  Thursday

I had the pool all to myself.
The lifeguard was only five minutes late.... (don't you know he hates that one person who shows up).

Connor ROCKED his Science test.  This stuff is hard and that kid really had to study.
(I wrote the green message. Amen and Amen.)

54  Friday

Oh yeah baby, fidget tools have officially HIT our school.  This little fellow was showing me some cool tricks but quickly put it away so he could focus on his studies.
Connor is begging for one.

Mrs. C. and our Annual The Very Hungry Caterpillar lessons
I'm so going to miss her next year (sniff. sniff. sniff).

50- Sick Day

Day 50 (halfway there):

Scenes from Today

Even though we are getting closer to the end of the year and warmer weather....  the sickness wants to stay home.

Baby Girl sick with strep AGAIN.  Its an official sick day (and I'm officially out of sick days).

I am so over bringing out these bottles.

I am utilizing this day- paperwork. paperwork. and more paperwork.

I decided to splurge and get this book for myself.  I have followed Funeral for my Fat and Sharee for quite a while on Tumblr.    So far this book is .... eh.  I think you can get just as much out of her (free) Tumblr.
Her story is absolutely inspirational.

I saw Nina Doberv's hair on the internet the other day.
I LOVE IT.
Darren likes my hair long.  I like it short.
I'm thinking this would be a nice compromise with a side bang maybe.  hmmmmm.

44-49: Catching Up

Today I am playing catch up!
Last week was the first time I met my goal of four times a week to the gym.
Between that and the unexpected hectic week, I had no time for blogging.

44: Tuesday
Baby girl went to the dentist.
One cavity- booo. hoooo.
But the visit was positive and Carlee did Grrreeeaaattt.
showing Carlee all the dental tools

45:  Wednesday

5:30am Swim
I'm still hitting the gym but I'm also hitting the fridge.  I haven't lost a pound.... but the gym is helping me with day to day anxiety.

To prepare for an AM swim before work is a lot of work, so I was none to happy when the little lifeguard came in at 5:55am.  Instead of getting angry at him, I swam for 10 minutes and made the most of my day.  #offerMOREgrace

46:  Thursday
dressed as our principal Mrs. B.

How many adventures have Mrs. E. and I been on?  This week 'my girls' helped me execute the most hilarious skit to wish Mrs. B. good bye.  We worked hard and most of all it made the real Mrs. B. laugh.

47: Friday

Special Olympics

We had a parade and lots of HAPPY notes to send us off.  The kids had great fun.

We are at a great school.

48: Saturday
By Friday afternoon, Carlee had the strep throat (again)!  All I could do was step back and take inventory of the house, only one week after Spring break.

Anyone else ever have these weeks?
The Aftermath:

Too Many Dishes
(and the sad thing is we have a dishwasher- already filled of course)

Leftovers from a homemade wrestling belt.

Too many toys or too small of a floor? yikes

Wanted: Shoes in the Closet
Found:  Shoes all Over the House

Finally after an all day cleaning session... I began to feel organization come back to me.

We found the floor.

49: Sunday

I pulled out the writing board from the basement to practice for kindergarten.

Of course, brother added his touches.
